About the Korean Public Administration Review (KPAR)

Welcome to the Korean Public Administration Review!

The Korean Public Administration Review (KPAR), which has published 48 quarterly volumes since its establishment in 1967, is the official journal of the Korean Association for Public Administration(KAPA). As a scholarly journal, KPAR not only hold the highest authority in the field of public administration in South Korea, but also in social science. Since the National Research Foundation of Korea began evaluating journals, KPAR has been listed in the Korea Citation Index (KCI) journal index.

KPAR is open to scholars of public administration and policy, as well as practitioners. By encouraging submission from public sector employees, KPAR seeks to integrate theory and practice by serving as a platform betweenscholars and practitioners to exchange knowledge and ideas.

KPAR also strives to achieve diversity in substantive research topics and methodology. Because KPAR aspires to encompass a broad range of topics, from major areas of public administration to interdisciplinary research in humanities and social science, we welcome a broad range of submissions from scholars. In research methodology, KPAR supports experimental/quantitative approach as well as normative/qualitative approach. Articles delving into theories of public administrationare also welcome.

KPAR is committed to the principles of fairness, transparency and efficiency during the review process. Manuscripts are reviewed on standard procedures and rules; we strictly manage the review process so that no suspicion arises. All editorial board members and reviewers consist of renowned scholars in the related field. Submitted manuscripts are assigned to reviewers whose interests match the article in terms of topics and methodology, andreviewers evaluate them based on their professional knowledge and scholarly integrity. Moreover, these members are dedicated to providing useful information and comments, thereby contributing to improving the quality of papers.

KPAR also strives to for timeliness in publication. All manuscripts are submitted electronically via our online system, and the submissions will immediately be under review and completed without delay. These efforts have allowed KPAR to be punctual in all our publications, a feat we are proud of.
